K-12 Regionalization Planning Committee   
The K-12 Mahar Regionalization Planning Committee was established in accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 71, Section 14. Regional school district planning committees from any two or more towns may join together to form a regional school district planning board or boards. Such regional school district planning board shall organize forthwith upon its formation by the election of a chairman and secretary-treasurer.
 
Citizens of the town of Petersham and the town of Orange voted to investigate the formation of a K-12 Regional School District, Grades K-12 with Ralph C. Mahar Regional School District while maintaining the existing Union 28, New Salem, Wendell, Grades K-6.
 
The current members of the Regional Planning Board are:
1. Mike LeBlanc, Mahar Regional School Committee, Petersham, Chair
2. Dana kennan, Petersham Elementary School Committee, Mahar
    Regional School Committee
3. Chris Donelan, Town of Orange, Secretary
4. Richard Baldwin, Union 28, Wendell, New Salem School Committee
    Member, Mahar Regional School Committee
5. Jim Slavas, Wendell Finance Committee
6. Paul Gervais, Orange Elementary School Committee
7. Richard Herk, Orange Elementary School Committee Chair
8. Linda Overing, New Salem Finance Committee (Resigned)
9. Steve Verney, New Salem SelectBoard
