The library is closed after school today expect for those who are attending the MCAS tutoring session with Mr. Speek.
There will be a delayed opening for students next Tuesday, March 11th. Doors will open at
10:00 and classes will start at 10:15.
MCAS TUTORING FOR GRADE 10 ELA
MCAS tutoring continues through March 17th for grade 10 English Language Arts. It will run from 2:00 – 5:00 in the library.
BLOOD AND GUTS EVENING
The sign-up sheet for the Baystate Franklin Medical Center “Blood and Guts Evening” on March 26th is now available in Student Services. Primarily for high school juniors, this program is for students interested in medical careers. Sign-ups are due by March 12th.
SPRING SPORTS SIGN-UPS
Sign-ups for student athletes in grades 7 – 12 will be held on Tuesday, March 11th at 2:10 in the high school gym. Athletes are reminded you must have a current physical on file to be allowed to participate.
FRANKLIN TECH APPLICATIONS
The deadline for submitting your application for admission into Franklin Tech is tomorrow. Please turn them into Student Services.
Permission slips are available in Student Services for the Construction/Engineering Field Trip on April 30th. Seats for this trip are very limited. Permission slips will be accepted in Student Services on a first-come-first-serve basis starting Monday, March 10th. See Mrs. Storm for details.
NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR FOR JUNIORS
Field trip permission forms are now available in Student Services for the National College Fair in Springfield on March 31st. This field trip is free and available to the first 40 students to sign up. Forms are due by Friday, March 14th.
A reminder that our meeting is today from 2:15 – 3:00 in the Charlotte Ryan Theater. Our yearbook picture will be taken at this time.
Any senior wishing to play in the volleyball game or the basketball game against the faculty on Thursday, March 13th should sign up with Miss Smith in room H18 by 2 p.m. on Monday March 10th. Also, any senior wishing to be cheerleaders for this event should sign up in room H18 by
2 p.m. on March 10th. We will take 15 – 20 people for the volleyball team and 15 – 20 people for the basketball team; we would like to have both male and female players. We are asking participants to pay a $1.00 fee as we are trying to raise funds for the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute.
STUDENTS AND STAFF
The Mahar Key Club is sponsoring a night of volleyball and basketball on Thursday March 13th starting at 6 p.m. in the Mahar gym. Games include the O.R.A. elementary school teams and the Mahar faculty against the seniors in both volleyball and basketball. There will also be a shooting contest. The admission price is $3.00 for Mahar students and adults and $1.00 for children under 12. Come join the fun and see the staff take on the seniors. All profits will go the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Boston. Thank you.
