LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time.  Mr. Malo will have the sign up book.  Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

Today is the last day to sign up for schedule changes in Student Services.

 

LOST AND FOUND

Please check the lost and found located in the gym, middle school office and high school office for any items you are missing.  Items that are not claimed with be donated to charity today.

 

BIOLOGY MCAS REVIEW SESSIONS

Review sessions for the Biology MCAS will run through Friday February 3rd.  Sessions will be held in room H10 with Ms. Gonciarz from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and from 2:15 - 4:15 on Thursdays and Fridays.

 

MUSICAL AUDITIONS

The last audition for “Grease” will be tomorrow from 3:00 – 6:00 in the Kermit Cook Auditorium.

 

JETS

The High School JETS team will meet today in Mrs. Schulze's room and the Middle School team will be in Ms Cote's room at 2:10. They will write their proposal for renewable energy in Massachusetts. They should also check Google Classroom for the January math challenge. New JETS members are still welcome. Interested in engineering? Come check it out.

 

FRANKLIN TECH

Applications for students interested in Franklin Tech are due in Student Services no later than February 15th.

 

MY LITTLE PONY

My Little Pony Club will meet today from 3:00 – 4:00 in room S02.  We look forward to seeing you then.  Please see Ms. Church or James Duteau with any questions.  Refreshments will be served.

The next SOS meeting is tomorrow from 3:00 – 5:00 in room H03.  Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting tomorrow beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Remember this is Parents’ Night.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

PROJECT PURPLE

It is Project Purple Week.  Please take the time to sign a pledge in the cafeteria and show your support by sporting one of our purple ribbons and by wearing purple on Friday.

FROM MR. HEMLIN

Tomorrow, State Police and Orange Police will be at Mahar to assist with our next lockdown drill.  Tuesday's drill will be initiated by a teacher or staff member from some location within the building.  As we have done in the past, students must follow the teacher's instructions during the drill.  The drill will take place between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS

Students are reminded that teachers are not available for extra help or makeup on Monday afternoons.  Students who would like to stay after school on Mondays to complete work or students who are waiting for sports practices to start, are to report to the cafeteria by 2:15.  Students should not wander the building at that time.

 

OFFICE DETENTIONS

There will be no office detentions after school today.

SPORTS DISMISSAL

The middle school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will be dismissed at 2:00 today.

 

DELAYED OPENING ON FRIDAY

There will be a delayed opening tomorrow, January 20th for students.  Doors will open at 10:30 and classes will begin at 10:40.

 

STUDENTS

The Annual Sock Drive for the needy will continue until tomorrow.  Please take the time to donate socks, mittens and hats to help out your community and those in need of a clean pair of socks or a warm pair of mittens or hat.  Donation boxes can be found in any teacher’s room, middle school classroom, Mr.  Kirouac’s class and in the cafeteria.  Please see Ms. Alain-Moody if you have any questions.

 

Today’s lunch is pulled pork or turkey and cheese sub.

REMINDER TO STUDENTS

A reminder that there is no school on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day; there is no school for students on Tuesday and there will be a delayed opening on Friday,

January 20th.  Doors will open at 10:30.

to 2:00 pm. Please check your Mahar email to complete a survey so that the club can get enough food and supplies for those that are planning on attending. Prizes will be awarded. If the ice becomes too thin over the next few days, check your Mahar email or the club Facebook page for updates on the status of the derby. See Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Bevan if you have any questions.

WINTER CONCERT

The music department invites you to attend tonight’s winter concert at 6:30 in the Kermit Cook Auditorium.  Middle and High School groups will perform.  The concert is free and open to the public.  Doors open at 6:15 so come out and support our student musicians!

 

LIBRARY

The library will be closed this morning for STAR Testing.  Printers will not be available for student or staff use.  Also, the library will be closed after school for the setup of the Science Fair.

 

PEER MEDIATION
