140th Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSALS

The Varsity and JV softball teams will be dismissed at 1:30 today.  The Middle School baseball team will be dismissed at 1:45 today.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time. The book will be located in the cafeteria. Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

 

ELECTIONS

Class elections will be held this Thursday.  Nomination forms are now available from Mr. Kirouac and Ms. Allain-Moody.  All forms will be due back today. 

 

SOS

The next SOS meeting is tomorrow from 2:10 – 3:00 in room H03.  You need to attend if you plan on participating in the Day of Silence.  Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting tomorrow beginning at 4 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please note the time change due to the Harlem Wizards game.

 

JETS

Congratulations to Mahar's Junior Engineering teams. The high school B team's essay came in second in the state and the A team's overall score came in third in the state. Nationally, the B team's score was 35th out of 93 teams of similarly sized schools and the A-team was 11th !!

There will be a party to celebrate the teams' accomplishments next month. Stay tuned for details.

 

FISH ‘N GAME DEEP SEA FISHING

The Fish 'N Game Club Deep Sea Fishing Trip is scheduled for Tuesday April 24 (weather dependent). Non-members may sign up for the trip.  ALL permission forms and payments for members and non-members are due this Friday before April vacation. See Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Duguay for permission forms or if you have any questions.

 

 

ARCHERY CLUB

Archery Club will be meeting tomorrow from 2:15 to 3:00 in the middle school gym. Both middle school and high school students are welcome. Please see Ms. Gonciarz if you have any questions.

 

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship Booklet #5 is now available in Student Services and on the school's website.

 

Information for the Sarah Kemble Scholarship Award is now available in Student Services.  This scholarship is available to any senior who will be pursuing a career in the healthcare field.  The deadline is May 1, 2018.  Also, information for the North Worcester County Quabbin Anglers Scholarship is now available in Student Services. This scholarship is available to seniors and post graduates who are pursuing an area of study that pertains to the environment. The deadline is May 1st.

 

MAHAR’S GOT TALENT AND MR. MAHAR COMPETITION

The Mahar’s Got Talent and Mr. Mahar competition is scheduled for this Thursday at

7 p.m. in the Kermit Cook Auditorium.  General admission is $3.00; students, children, and seniors are $2.00.  Come enjoy Mahar’s talented students perform. 

 

SENIORS

The senior and guest forms for the Mahar After Prom Party will be handed out to seniors tomorrow at your lunch time by Mrs. Holmes. These are due back in the high school office by April 17.

 

JUNIOR PROM TICKETS

Junior Prom tickets are being sold AFTER SCHOOL in Mr. Kirouac’s room, H16.  Please see Mr. Kirouac or Mrs. Menino with any questions.

 

HYPNOTIST SHOW TO BENEFIT MAPP

The Hypnotist Show to benefit MAPP is coming Friday, April 20, at 7 p.m. at Mahar. This features Hypnotist Matthew James - the same guy who does the hypnotism show at MAPP. Tickets will be sold tomorrow at your lunchtime to anyone age 16 and older. Advance tickets for students is $7. At the door, tickets are $10 for students.  General admission for adults is $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  Besides being available at lunch on the 11th, tickets are also available at Trail Head and S & S Appliance. See you tomorrow! "
