DAY OF SILENCE

As you go through the day today, you may notice that some students are not talking as much as they usually do.  This is because SOS students and others are participating in the Day of Silence today.  It is a student-led national event that brings attention to anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, or LGBT, name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Students from middle school to college take a vow of silence to illustrate the silencing effect of bullying and harassment on LGBT students and those perceived to be LGBT.  Here at Mahar we take a strong stand against bullying and that is why we support this event.  Think about the voices you are not hearing today and every day and think about what YOU can do to help end the silence around bullying.

Today’s lunch is garlic chicken and pasta or tuna on wheat.
