SPORTS DISMISSAL

The varsity and JV softball teams will be dismissed today at 1:45.

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS

Students are reminded that teachers are not available for extra help or makeup on Monday afternoons.  Students who would like to stay after school on Mondays to complete work or students who are waiting for sports practices to start, are to report to the cafeteria by 2:15.  Students should not wander the building at that time.

 

NO LATE BUS THIS WEEK

Because of the delayed opening for testing on Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be no late bus.

 

FISH ‘N GAME

There will be a middle school meeting this Wednesday from 2:15 to 3:00 in room C15. There will be a high school meeting this Wednesday at 6 p.m. in room H10.  A reminder that permission forms are due this Friday for members going on the deep sea fishing trip scheduled for April 25th. Please check your Mahar email for trip details or see Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Bevan if you have any questions. 

 

SENIORS

Scholarship Booklet #4 has been updated with the 202 Sports Hockey Association Memorial Scholarship.  If you have already picked up Booklet #4 and would like information on this added scholarship, stop in Student Services for more information.

 

FROM STUDENT COUNCIL

Anyone interested in running for a High School class officer position for next year or to be a member of the High School Student Council must pick up a nomination form from Ms. Allain-Moody or Mr. Kirouc. This nomination form is due back to Ms. Allain-Moody or Mr. Kirouac no later than 2:05 on Monday, April 10TH.  Elections will be held on Thursday, April 13TH.

Anyone who obtains 20 classmate signatures will receive a spot as a Student Council Member.

 

 

KEY CLUB SPRING FLING TRIVIA NIGHT

Do you like trivia?  Find 4 friends and sign up as a team of five to compete in the Key Club’s Spring Fling Trivia Competition on Friday April 7th beginning at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.  There will be awesome team prizes for each round of competition and a grand prize for the most correct answers.  The registration fee for each team of five people is $15.00.  Prizes include gift certificates for The Hangar, Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards, WalMart gift cards, and French King Bowling Alley gift cards.  Students in grades 9 -12 must register their teams with Miss Smith in the Key Club room by Wednesday.  Faculty and staff are also encouraged to create and register teams; teams can be student, faculty, or a mix of student and faculty.  Come participate in this fun event.

 

FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFICATION FOR STUDENTS

High school students interested in obtaining their first aid and CPR certification are invited to sign up for free classes to take place here at school on April 24th and 27th.  The classes will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days and require a signed permission slip.  Space is limited to the first 12 students to return permission slips. Students have to be in good academic standing to be able to attend.  Forms are available in the Student Services Office.

 

AUTISM AWARENESS

April is Autism Awareness Month.  Autism Awareness is celebrated nationally on April 2nd but since it fell on a Sunday, Mahar is celebrating it tomorrow.  If you have an Autism Awareness shirt please wear it! Otherwise, please wear blue to show your support of our community’s growing awareness.

 

Today’s lunch is cheeseburger on whole wheat bun or ham and cheese sub.
