77th Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSAL

The middle school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will be dismissed at 1:45 today.

 

EARLY DISMISSAL ON FRIDAY

There will be an early dismissal this Friday for students at 10:15.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

The sign up book will be at all lunches and the book will be in the Middle School office until 1:30.

 

HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS FIELD TRIP

All High School chorus members who are going on today's field trip should meet in the Charlotte Ryan Theatre at 9:20 after checking in with their second block teachers.  The trip will return at approximately 1:30.

 

JAZZ BAND SOLSTICE RECITAL

The RCM Jazz Band invites the school community to a recital in the Charlotte Ryan Theater at 2:15 today.  Faculty, students, and staff are welcome to attend any portion of the concert, please come on down and support this wonderful group."

 

SKI CLUB

There will be a ski club meeting today at 2:15 in the middle school gym regarding bus transportation.

 

SENIOR SUPERLATIVES

A reminder that senior superlative pictures will be taken in Mr. Guertin's room after school today.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting today beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

ARCHERY CLUB

The club will be meeting today in the Middle School gym from 2:15 – 3:00.

 

 

 

ROBOTICS CLUB

The Robotics Club is meeting in Ms. Cote’s classroom C05 today after school from 2:10 – 3:00.  We are continuing to build and program our robot for competition after the Holiday Break.

 

FROM MRS. SCOTLAND

Mrs. Scotland’s skills classes are helping to clean up the environment by recycling or donating old shoes.  If you have any old shoes of ANY kind, please bring them to room M09.  It doesn’t matter what condition they are in, we will take them all.

 

HOT COCOA AND EGGNOG

The National Honor Society members will be selling cups of hot cocoa or eggnog to high school students on Thursday and Friday morning.  Come get yours for only $1.00!

 

SENIORS

Information is available in Student Services for the Yawkey Foundation Scholarship which is for seniors who plan to enter a private college in Massachusetts.  The deadline is February 15, 2017.  Also, Hood Milk is offering a $5,000 scholarship to three student athletes from each state in New England to further their education at a 2 or 4 year college or university.  The application can be found at Hood.com or for more information stop into Student Services.

 

SOPHOMORES SIGNED UP FOR THE PRACTICE ACT TEST

The test takes place tomorrow. There are lists posted outside of Student Services and outside the library.  You should report to the library right away.  Attendance will be taken there.  Pencils and calculators will be provided.  We should be done with the test around 11:30.  Please remember to pay the $12 to Mrs. Tresback in Student Services.

 

POETRY OUT LOUD

This year’s Poetry Out Loud competition is scheduled for Thursday, January 26th at 6:30 p.m.  Anyone interested in competing for cash prizes and poetic glory, please contact Mr. Speek either in person in him room, H20 or by email.

 

SOPHOMORE CLASS FUNDRAISER

Looking for new Mahar gear? The class of 2019 will be running a fundraiser this week, selling Mahar water bottles, cell phone wallets and lanyards.  Items will be available from class officers at lunch and can also be purchased after school by seeing Mr. Kirouac in room H14.

 

SEND A CANDY CANE

The Student Council will be having its annual “Send a Candy Cane” message sale this week during lunch today and tomorrow.  Candy canes are 50 cents.  They will be delivered to classrooms on Friday.

 

 

FROM STUDENT COUNCIL

The Annual Sock Drive for the needy will go until the end of January.  Please take the time to donate socks, mittens and hats to help out your community and those in need of a clean pair of socks or a warm pair of mittens or hat.  Donation boxes can be found in any teacher’s room, middle school classroom, Mr.  Kirouac’s class and in the cafeteria.  Please see Ms. Alain-Moody if you have any questions.

 

FROM THE KEY CLUB

Grades 9 – 12 students who eat lunch tomorrow will receive a ticket to make a hot fudge sundae compliments of the Mahar Key Club.  Snack bar does not count as school lunch.

 

Today’s lunch is pizza with cheese or ground beef topping.
