SPORTS DISMISSALS

The middle school girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will be dismissed at 1:45 today.

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO STUDENTS

Students may sign up in Student Services to request a schedule change during the following days:  Wednesday, January 17 through Tuesday, January 23.  Your counselor will call you down to discuss the schedule change with you.  All academic changes will be made first.  Important!  You are to continue attending the class that is on your original schedule until you are notified by your counselor that the schedule change has been made.

 

LATE BUS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time. The book will be located in the cafeteria. Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

 

WINTER CARNIVAL INFORMATION

The Winter Carnival Events are scheduled for January 19th and 20th

 

The Key Club Snow Ball will be held on Saturday, January 20th from 7:00 – 10:00 in the Mahar cafeteria.  The dance is for students in grades 9 –12 and features D.J. Mr. Dan Kirouac.  Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $6.00 at the door.  They will be on sale during lunch tomorrow and Friday.  Senior high students must sign guests up with Miss Smith in the Key Club room of the library before school.  Guests must be signed up by 2:00 p.m. Friday.

 

The Winter Carnival Schedule is as follows:

 

Friday, January 19: Assembly – last period (E/F) – Obstacle course and class games

Saturday, January 20: Ice Hockey (conditions permitting) at 8:30 a.m.

                                        Volleyball at 12:30 p.m.

                                        Snow Sculpture at 2:15 p.m.

                                        Snow Ball (grades 9 – 12) from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.

 

MONTY TECH LUNCH VISIT

For any 8th grade student interested in attending Monty Tech next year, Kim Curry, Dean of Admissions, will be at Mahar today during lunch period to answer any questions and review the application process.

 

FRANKLIN COUNTY TECHNICAL SCHOOL

Students interested in applying can obtain a paper copy of the application from Student Services or apply on-line on their school website.  Applications are due February 1st.  Students who have applied with the paper application or on-line by Feb. 1st will be able to have their interview at Mahar.  Interviews will be held on February 13th.  Please contact Mrs. Hoyle with any questions.

 

SOS

The next SOS meeting is today from 2:00 – 3:00 in room H03.  Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

ARCHERY CLUB

Archery Club will be meeting today from 2:15 to 3:00 in the middle school gym. Stop in if you are interested in competing or just want to have some fun shooting. Both middle school and high school students are welcome. Please see Ms. Gonciarz if you have any questions.

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

Please check your Mahar email for information about the trout contest, ice fishing derby, Minnesota trip (high school only), and preparations for our 60th game supper. Please see Mr. Duguay or Ms. Gonciarz if you have any questions.

 

Today’s lunch is beef lasagna with Italian bread and butter.
