DELAYED OPENING TOMORROW

There will be a delayed opening for students tomorrow, Thursday, January 25, 2018.  Doors will open at 10:30, classes begin at 10:40.

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO STUDENTS

Today is the last day for students to sign up in Student Services to request a schedule change. Your counselor will call you down to discuss the schedule change with you.  All academic changes will be made first.  Important!  You are to continue attending the class that is on your original schedule until you are notified by your counselor that the schedule change has been made.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time. The book will be located in the cafeteria. Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

 

FRANKLIN COUNTY TECHNICAL SCHOOL

Students interested in applying can obtain a paper copy of the application from Student Services or apply on-line on their school website.  Applications are due February 1st.  Students who have applied with the paper application or on-line by Feb. 1st will be able to have their interview at Mahar.  Interviews will be held on February 13th.  Please contact Mrs. Hoyle with any questions.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting today beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

The Ice Fishing Derby is tentatively scheduled for this Sunday, January 28 at Lake Ellis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The google form for the Ice Fishing Derby has been sent to your Mahar email. Check your email and listen to announcements, as the warm weather this week may change this date. Please see Mr. Duguay or Ms. Gonciarz if you have any questions.

 

ARCHERY CLUB

Archery Club will be meeting today from 2:15 to 3:00 in the middle school gym. Stop in if you are interested in competing or just want to have some fun shooting. Both middle school and high school students are welcome. Please see Ms. Gonciarz if you have any questions.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council will meet today during A/B block in Ms. Moody’s room.

 

MUSICAL TECH

There will be a mandatory tech meeting from 2:15 – 3:30 next Tuesday, January 30th, meeting in C15 (the Makerspace).  All who cannot attend make sure to let Mr. Bevan know.

 

FROM THE NEW SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY

Teens and tweens in grades 6 through 12 are invited to explore creative writing with journalist, novelist and poet Genevieve Fraser each Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 pm at the New Salem Public Library.  Along with creative writing, other activities include a monthly Video Game Day and Graphic Novel Book Club every second Wednesday of the month. In addition, weather and snow conditions permitting, plans call for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing as well as cooking class parties. You can ride the bus after school to the library.

 

HILLSIDE PIZZA

France Travelers are taking orders for Hillside Pizza and cookie dough! Pick up orders on Friday, February 2 in the cafeteria between 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Just in time for Super Bowl!

 

Today’s lunch is pizza or bagel lunch with yogurt and cheese.
