126th Day of School
Students are reminded that teachers are not available for extra help or makeup on Monday afternoons. Students who would like to stay after school on Mondays to complete work or students who are waiting for sports practices to start, are to report to the cafeteria by 2:15. Students should not wander the building at that time.
For all interested 10th graders – There will be an MCAS review session today from 2:00 – 3:00 in Mr. Speek’s room, H20. If you would like some hints on how to improve your performance on the MCAS tomorrow, please stop by.

Because of the delayed openings on Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be no late bus.
SENIORS AND JUNIORS
Turners Falls High School is offering a Massachusetts Educational Financial Authority College Admissions seminar this Wednesday in their library. This seminar is free of charge. More information is available in Student Services.
Information is now available in Student Services for the Athol Orange Lodge of Elks Scholarship. The deadline is April 1st.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SOFTBALL
There will be a middle school softball meeting Tuesday after school in M21. Please make your best effort to attend.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL
Tryouts for Middle School baseball will be held this Wednesday and Thursday from 2:15 – 4:30.
There will be a Yearbook meeting on Wednesday after school in Mr. Guertin’s room.
MY LITTLE PONY CLUB
Due to a schedule conflict, My Little Pony Club will meet on Wednesday, March 22nd instead of Tuesday. It will be from 3:00 - 4:00 in Room S02. We look forward to seeing you then. Please see Ms.Church or Chayne Hurlburt (new club president) with any questions. Refreshments will be served.
FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFICATION FOR STUDENTS
High school students interested in obtaining their first aid and CPR certification are invited to sign up for free classes to take place here at school on April 24th and 27th. The classes will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days and require a signed permission slip. Space is limited to the first 12 students to return permission slips. Students have to be in good academic standing to be able to attend. Forms are available in the Student Services Office.
CHILDREN’S CLOTHING DRIVE
Mahar's 8th grade Project 351 Ambassadors are conducting a clothing drive for lightly-used children's clothes. We ask that you clean out your drawers and closets to benefit Cradles to Crayons, an organization that serves families with need across the state. Drop-off bins are found in the School Office and Student Services.
FROM KEY CLUB
The Key Club is showing Before the Flood, a documentary about climate change featuring Leonardo DiCaprio this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Kermit Cook Auditorium. There is no charge. The Key Club will be selling refreshments and accepting donations for Project Thirst. Please come and learn what you can do for the world.
The Mahar Key Club is sponsoring a night of volleyball and basketball on Thursday starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Mahar gym. Games include the O.R.A. elementary school teams and the Mahar faculty against the seniors in both volleyball and basketball. There will also be a shooting contest. The admission price is $2.00 for Mahar students and adults and $1.00 for children under 12. All profits will go the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Boston.
STUDENTS AND STAFF
On Friday, the Key Club will be collecting clean, redeemable cans and bottles from students in the office lobby in the morning. All profits go to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children to fight child abuse. Please help this worthwhile cause.
