LIBRARY

The library will be closed today for MCAS overflow testing.

 

NO LATE BUS THIS WEEK

Because of the delayed openings today, there will be no late bus.

 

SENIORS AND JUNIORS

Turners Falls High School is offering a Massachusetts Educational Financial Authority College Admissions seminar today in their library.  This seminar is free of charge.  More information is available in Student Services.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL

Tryouts for Middle School baseball will be held today and tomorrow from 2:15 – 4:30.

 

YEARBOOK MEETING

There will be a Yearbook meeting today after school in Mr. Guertin’s room.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting today beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

SOS

Today’s meeting is from 2:00 – 3:00 in room H03.  We’ll be preparing for Ally Week and the Day of Silence.  Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

MY LITTLE PONY CLUB

Today’s meeting is from 3:00 - 4:00 in Room S02. We look forward to seeing you then. Please see Ms. Church or Chayne Hurlburt (new club president) with any questions. Refreshments will be served. 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL

There will be a Middle School Social this Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Mahar Cafeteria.  Tickets will be sold during lunches for $5.00 or $6.00 at the door.

 

 

 

FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFICATION FOR STUDENTS

High school students interested in obtaining their first aid and CPR certification are invited to sign up for free classes to take place here at school on April 24th and 27th.  The classes will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days and require a signed permission slip.  Space is limited to the first 12 students to return permission slips. Students have to be in good academic standing to be able to attend.  Forms are available in the Student Services Office.

 

CHILDREN’S CLOTHING DRIVE

Mahar's 8th grade Project 351 Ambassadors are conducting a clothing drive for lightly-used children's clothes.  We ask that you clean out your drawers and closets to benefit Cradles to Crayons, an organization that serves families with need across the state.  Drop-off bins are found in the School Office and Student Services. 

 

FROM KEY CLUB

The Mahar Key Club is sponsoring a night of volleyball and basketball tomorrow starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Mahar gym.  Games include the O.R.A. elementary school teams and the Mahar faculty against the seniors in both volleyball and basketball.   There will also be a shooting contest. The admission price is $2.00 for Mahar students and adults and $1.00 for children under 12.  All profits will go the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Boston.

 

STUDENTS AND STAFF

On Friday, the Key Club will be collecting clean, redeemable cans and bottles from students in the office lobby in the morning.  All profits go to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children to fight child abuse.  Please help this worthwhile cause.

 

Today’s lunch is pizza with roasted veggies or cheese topping or bologna and cheese sandwich.
