116th Day of School

 ATTENTION STUDENTS

Students are reminded that teachers are not available for extra help or makeup on Monday afternoons. Students who would like to stay after school on Mondays to complete work or students who are waiting for sports practices to start, are to report to the cafeteria by 2:15. Students should not wander the building at that time.

JETS

All JETS team members should go to the library as soon as they have checked in with their first period teacher and eaten some breakfast.  A team photo will be taken at 7:50 a.m.  Good luck with your competition.  Go Mahar JETS!!!

 

KEY CLUB SPAGHETTI SUPPER - RESCHEDULED

The Key Club Spaghetti Supper had been rescheduled to this evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Mahar cafeteria.  The menu includes spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad bar, garlic bread, beverage, and homemade dessert on an "all-you- can -eat" basis.  Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12.  Tickets are available from Key Club members.  They will also be sold during lunch today and at the door.

 

SET DESIGN COMPETITION – CORAL PROPS FOR THE MUSICAL

Students can compete to win a first prize of $50 by creating coral set pieces for the Musical. Students can work in teams up to 2 students. Pieces are due March 16th so come down and see Ms. Miller or Ms. Belanger for more details!

 

MAHAR’S GOT TALENT

Students who want to sign up to audition for Mahar’s Got Talent tomorrow from 2:00 to 3:00 need to sign up with Miss Smith in the Key Club room of the library before school in the morning.  More details will be provided when you sign up.

 

SPRING SPORT SIGN UPS

Spring sport sign-ups will be held this Wednesday in the gym at 2:10.  If you are interested in playing a spring sport, you must attend this meeting.

 

COLLEGE FAIR

Field trip permission forms are now available for the National Association of College Admissions College Fair in Springfield, happening on Monday, April 9th. This trip is free (students must bring lunch money or a bagged lunch) and is available for the first forty juniors to sign up.

 

PEER MEDIATION

All peer mediators are welcome to the seminar this Thursday at 10:00 in the Kermit Cook Auditorium.  Please contact Mrs. Hoyle with any questions.

 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL FISH ‘N GAME CLUB MEETINGS

There will be a meeting for middle school members at 2:15 this Wednesday in the cafeteria. Middle school students should see Mr. Duguay if they have any questions. There will be a meeting for high school members at 2:15 this Thursday in room H10. High school members should see Ms. Gonciarz if they have any questions.

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB’S 60TH ANNUAL GAME SUPPER

The Fish'N Game Club will be hosting its 60th Annual Game Supper on Thursday, March 15 beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Mahar Cafeteria. The evening includes a menu featuring moose, deer, bear, trout, and pheasant donated by local sportsmen, awards presentation, and fantastic raffle prizes. Tickets are $15 and are available through club members, Ms. Gonciarz, Mr. Duguay, and at the door. 

 

CRIMINAL JUSTICE FIELD TRIP

Are you interested in a career in Criminal Justice? On Wednesday, March 21st, students from

R.C. Mahar will visit the Franklin County Sheriff's Office & House of Corrections in Greenfield for an information session on career pathways and training opportunities with the Sheriff's Department and a tour of the facility.  This field trip is open to students in Grades 10-12, space is limited to 15 students and must be in good academic standing.  Permission slips are available in Student Services and are due by Wednesday, March 14th.  The bus will leave school at 8:15 and return by 11:45.

 

Today’s lunch is oven fried chicken with whipped potato.
