161st Day of School

 

MCAS TESTING FOR GRADE 8 ON TODAY AND TOMORROW

Students in grade 8 will be taking the STE MCAS today and tomorrow.  THERE WILL BE NO DELAYED OPENING.  All students will arrive for a 7:45 start.  Grade 8 students will report to their testing sites and have breakfast in the classroom before testing begins.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time. The book will be located in the cafeteria. Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

 

MATH MCAS TUTORING

For grade 10 students: There will be Math MCAS tutoring today from 3:00-5:00 Thursday & Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., and next Monday & Tuesday from 3:00-5:00pm in room H03. All 10th grade students are encouraged to attend if they feel they need a little refresher before the MCAS test. Remember that you are not required to stay the entire two hours. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Sullivan.


NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Our next meeting is today from 2:15 – 3:00 in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting today beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

SPRING SPIRIT WEEK

The Mahar Student Council will be hosting its annual Spring Spirit Week and Monday May 21st through May 25th.  Show your school spirit and Dress to Unimpress on Monday, Tourist Day on Tuesday, Superhero Day on Wednesday, Class Color Day on Thursday and Senior Citizen Day on Friday. Also, remember to see Ms. Allain-Moody or Mr. Kirouac if you haven't signed up to participate in the Senator Games Field and Track events held on Thursday afternoon May 24th. 

 

2 FREE GOLF LESSONS FOR 10 MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Ellinwood Country Club will provide 2 free golf lessons for up to 10 middle school students.  The dates for the lessons have changed.  The new dates are June 6 and 7 from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m.  Please sign up with Mr. Woodward, the Athletic Director, ASAP.


FOOTBALL CHEERING TRYOUTS

Football cheering tryouts will be held on Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday, May 31st in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.  This will be a 2 day tryout.

 

MAHAR CANOE AND KAYAK CLUB

The Canoe and Kayak Club will be paddling tomorrow after school (weather permitting).  If you would like to join us, get a registration form from Mrs. Normandin in C14 and get it back to her before Thursday. Paddle for life!

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

Fish’N Game Club members should check their Mahar email for a google form regarding the Spring Fishing Derby this Saturday May 19. See Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Duguay if you have any questions. 

 

FRIENDLY TOWN LIVE CONCERT

This Friday from 7 – 9 p.m., touring group the Reprobate Blues Band will perform a Friendly Town Live concert at Butterfield Park.  The concert is free for all ages.  There will be free candy while supplies last.  If it rains, the concert moves to the Orange Town Hall.

 

Today’s lunch is pizza with cheese topping.
