155th Day of School

 

EARLY RELEASE FOR STUDENTS TODAY MAY 8, 2018

There will be an early release for students today for teacher professional development.  Students will be dismissed from school at 10:15 a.m.

 

NO OFFICE DETENTIONS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

There will be no office detentions today or tomorrow.  There will be detentions on Thursday.

 

PEER MEDIATION

The last peer mediation seminar will be held this Thursday at 10:00 in the Kermit Cook Auditorium.  There will be a celebration for the seniors who have devoted time to peer mediation.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be Key Club meeting tomorrow beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Students interested in joining the club for next year should also attend.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

2 FREE GOLF LESSONS FOR 10 MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Ellinwood Country Club will provide 2 free golf lessons for up to 10 middle school students.  If you are interested, see Mr. Woodward in the Athletic Director’s office.  The dates for the lessons are May 23 and May 25 from 1:00 – 4:00.

 

FOOTBALL CHEERING TRYOUTS

Football cheering tryouts will be held on Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday, May 31st in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.  This will be a 2 day tryout.

 

MAHAR CANOE AND KAYAK CLUB

The Mahar Canoe and Kayak Club will be starting on Thursday after school. We will be meeting down at the Orange Community Boathouse at 2:30 and paddling until 4:30. Transportation from school is provided but you must arrange your own rides home from the boathouse. You must turn in a registration and permission form to Mrs. Normandin in room C14 by tomorrow. Come get your forms in C14. This club will be meeting Thursdays until the end of the school year and once a week during the summer months.  Come join us on the beautiful Millers River!

KISS A SENIOR GOODBYE

The Key Club will be selling cards on which you can write a personalized farewell to a senior beginning today through Thursday.  Cards will be sold before school in the morning in the cafeteria and during senior high lunches.  The cards will be combined with bags of Hershey kisses and delivered to seniors during lunches on Thursday.  Faculty and staff might want to buy cards for seniors in a club, on a team, in an advisory group, or in a class.  The Smiths will also take orders in the Key Club room before school in the mornings.

 

FOOD DRIVE

The Mahar Key Club and the Senior National Honor Society are collecting can goods and non-perishable food items for the local food drive on May 15.  Collection of food will be before school in the high school lobby Friday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 15.  This collection benefits all the local food pantries; please help out.
