NO SCHOOL TOMORROW

There will be no school tomorrow in honor of Veterans Day.

 

DELAYED OPENING NEXT WEDNESDAY

There will be a delayed opening for students on Wednesday, November 16th.  Doors will open at 10:05 a.m. and classes will begin at 10:15 a.m.

 

LOST AND FOUND

Please check the lost and found located in the gym, middle school office and high school office for any items you are missing.  Items that are not claimed with be donated to charity today.

 

WINTER SPORTS SIGN UPS

Winter sports sign-ups will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at 2:10 in the high school gym.  Remember you must have a current physical to try out for a team.

 

SKI CLUB

Anyone interested in participating in the Wachusett Mountain Ski Club, please see Ms. Riddell, Ms. Cote, Ms. Gonciarz or Mrs. Schulze as soon as possible.  Forms can be picked up from Ms. Riddell and will be available in the cafeteria at lunches.  The deadline is December 1st.

 

SENIOR COLLEGE VISITS

The following college will be in Student Services:  Western New England University will be here on Monday, November 14th at 1:00. If you are interested in seeing a representative from this college, please sign up in either Student Services or your Health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Today’s meeting is from 2:15 – 3:00 in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.

 

CLASS OF 2020

There will be a class of 2020 fundraising committee interest meeting on Tuesday, November 15th from 2:05 – 3:00 in the Student Services’ Conference Room.  All interested members must attend this mandatory meeting.  Please see Mr. Sullivan for any questions.  Also, class dues will be collected during all lunch blocks on Monday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 22nd.  Class dues are $20 and should be paid with a check.  Please see Mr. Sullivan for any questions.

 

PROJECT PURPLE PARTY

The Project Purple Party will be held at the Athol YMCA on Friday, November 18th from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.  This is open to all middle and high school students.

 

SOPHOMORES

A practice test for the ACT Test will be held on Thursday December 22nd, here at Mahar, for interested sophomores.  The test costs $12.00 and is great practice for the ACT, which you may take in your junior year. The PreACT test includes multiple choice questions in English, reading, math & science. It also provides information about career possibilities which you can use to start thinking about your future. Please see Mrs. Tresback in the Guidance office to sign up as soon as possible.

 

STUDENTS AND STAFF

The Key Club Thanksgiving Can Drive begins Monday, November 14th and continues through Tuesday, November 22.  Please bring your contributions to this year’s drive so that we can insure that everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.  There will be a collection spot in the lobby near the high school office each morning.  Students bringing food may enter at 7:30.

 

Today’s lunch is sweet Italian sausage grinder or ham and cheese sub.
