Do you wish you could vote in the upcoming election?  Now you can! Mahar students will have the opportunity to make their voice heard by voting online now through November 8th.  Please check your student e-mails for an e-mail from Mr. Kirouac with a link to a Google Form.  All voting is anonymous and we hope that you all participate. 



Winter sports sign-ups will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at 2:10 in the high school gym.  Remember you must have a current physical to try out for a team.



Support our troops by donating candy! Treats for Troops sends candy to soldiers to help combat feelings of sadness and isolation.  NHS members will be collecting your donations at the high school lunches but donations will be accepted during all lunches this week.



The following colleges will be in Student Services:  on Monday, November 7th – Saint Anselm College at 8:30; Florida Atlantic University at 9:30.  On Wednesday, November 9th – Lasell College at 11:00 and Suffolk University at 1:30.  If you are interested in seeing a representative from these colleges, please sign up in either Student Services or your Health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.



Turners Falls High School will be hosting FAFSA Day on Sunday, November 6th at 1:00 p.m.  This is a free event that will provide the information, resources, and one-on-one assistance to complete this federally required financial aid form.  For more information stop into Student Services.


Permission slips for the ASVAB military service exam are due today in Student Services. 



Information for the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship is now available in Student Services.  The deadline is November 30th. 



A practice test for the ACT Test will be held on Thursday December 22nd, here at Mahar, for interested sophomores.  The test costs $12.00 and is great practice for the ACT, which you may take in your junior year. The PreACT test includes multiple choice questions in English, reading, math & science. It also provides information about career possibilities which you can use to start thinking about your future. Please see Mrs. Tresback in the Guidance office to sign up as soon as possible.



There will be a Key Club Spaghetti Supper tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Mahar cafeteria.  The menu includes spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad bar, garlic bread, beverage, and homemade dessert on an "all-you- can -eat" basis.  Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12.  Tickets are available from Key Club members.  They will also be sold during lunch today and tomorrow and at the door.


Today’s lunch is Asian rice bowl with chicken or chicken salad Sub.
