30th Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSAL

The Middle School football team will be dismissed at 1:50 today.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students will not be able to sign up on Chromebooks.  Mr. Malo will have a sign up book at all lunches and the book will be in the Middle School office until 1:30.

 

HOMEWORK CLUB

The Middle School Math Homework Club will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with Miss Lawless in room C13 from 2-3pm.

 

FREE FLU CLINIC

On Thursday there will be a free flu clinic for students in the nurse’s office.  Permission slips are available on the Mahar website and from the nurse.  Please return permission slips to the nurse’s office by tomorrow.

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

There will be a middle school meeting tomorrow at 2:10 in the cafeteria.  The high school meeting will be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. in room H10.  If you still have not turned in orders for the magazine drive and cookie fundraiser, please turn them in to Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Bevan as soon as possible.

 

COLLEGE VISITS FOR SENIORS

A representative from Nichols College will be in Student Services tomorrow at 11:00.   American International College will be here on Friday at 8:30.  Worcester State University will be here next Monday at 8:30.  If you are interested in seeing the representatives from these colleges, please sign up in either Student Services or your Health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

 

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

There is a field trip to UMass/Amherst on October 24th for The Women in Engineering & Computing Career Day.  It’s a great opportunity to see the college, meet professors, college students and more.  The cost is $20.  For more details or to sign up, see Mrs. Sullivan in room H03.  If you want to go, you must sign-up by tomorrow. 

 

YOUTH SPEECH COMPETITION

The Petersham and Orange Lions Clubs are jointly sponsoring a Massachusetts Youth Speech Competition here at Mahar on November 16th in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.  This competition provides an opportunity for students in grades 9 – 12 to speak publicly and freely on a designated topic of general interest.  Prizes and awards are given at each level of competition.  Please contact Mr. Speek in room H20 if you are interested in participating in this rewarding opportunity.  The deadline is Friday.

 

Today’s lunch is sloppy joe on a roll or roast beef sub.
