31st Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSAL

The varsity and JV boys’ soccer teams will be dismissed at 1:45 today.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students will not be able to sign up on Chromebooks.  Mr. Malo will have a sign up book at all lunches and the book will be in the Middle School office until 1:30.

 

HOMEWORK CLUB

The Middle School Math Homework Club will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with Miss Lawless in room C13 from 2-3pm.

 

FREE FLU CLINIC

There will be a free flu clinic tomorrow for students in the nurse’s office.  Permission slips are due today.

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

There will be a middle school meeting today at 2:10 in the cafeteria.  The high school meeting will be held today at 6 p.m. in room H10.  If you still have not turned in orders for the magazine drive and cookie fundraiser, please turn them in to Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Bevan as soon as possible.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting today beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Our next meeting is tomorrow from 2:15 – 3:00 in the Kermit Cook Auditorium.  This is our rehearsal for induction.

 

COLLEGE VISITS FOR SENIORS

A representative from American International College will be here on Friday at 8:30.  Worcester State University will be here next Monday at 8:30.  If you are interested in seeing the representatives from these colleges, please sign up in either Student Services or your Health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

 

SOS

We'll be discussing the fundraiser and field trip at the next SOS meeting, which is today from 2-3 in room H03. Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

YOUTH SPEECH COMPETITION

The Petersham and Orange Lions Clubs are jointly sponsoring a Massachusetts Youth Speech Competition here at Mahar on November 16th in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.  This competition provides an opportunity for students in grades 9 – 12 to speak publicly and freely on a designated topic of general interest.  Prizes and awards are given at each level of competition.  Please contact Mr. Speek in room H20 if you are interested in participating in this rewarding opportunity.  The deadline is Friday.

 

JUNIORS AND SENIORS

Are you having concerns about getting your diploma?  Need help figuring out if you want to go to college?  Want to be a competitive applicant for future jobs?  Fill out an application for Community Action's Next Steps program!  Come see Brenda, who will be set up outside the lunchroom today, or you can stop by Student Services for more details or to pick up your application! 

In Next Steps, you will meet individually with Brenda once a week, during and/or after school, to come up with a game plan to get you where you want to be by graduation!

 

PICTURE RETAKE DAY

Picture retake day will be Tuesday, October 25th.  If you are having your pictures retaken, you must return your original package to the photographer on retake day.  If you were absent on that day and would like to have your picture taken, there are order forms in the middle school office.

 

Today’s lunch is pizza with cheese or ground beef topping.
