36th Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSALS

The JV and varsity field hockey teams will be dismissed at 1:40 today.  The JV and varsity girls’ soccer teams will be dismissed at 1:45 today.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time.  The book will be located in the cafeteria.  Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

 

PICTURE RETAKE DAY

O’Connor Studios will be returning on Tuesday, October 24th for students who were absent on picture day, or for those who need their portrait package retaken.  If you’d like to order pictures, please use your original order form, or pick up a new form in the office.  If you are having your picture retaken, return your original package to the photographer on retake day.  No order form is necessary.  Please note that retakes are only offered for students who paid for a portrait, or who were absent the first day.

 

COLLEGE VISITS FOR SENIORS

Representatives from New England Institute of Technology will be here tomorrow at 11:00 and Elms College at 1:00.  Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will be here on Friday at 11:00.  Also, Framingham State University will be here on Tuesday, October 24th at 1:00.  If you are interested in seeing these representatives, please sign up in either Student Services or your health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

 

SOS

Tomorrow’s meeting is from 3:00 – 5:00 in room H03 and will be about our upcoming fundraiser.  Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting tomorrow beginning at 7:00 in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8:15.

 

SENIORS

Seniors are reminded that gown measurements will be held tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. in the library.  Checks are to be made out to Mahar.

 

 

WRESTLING

For any boy, girl, middle schooler or high schooler who is interested in joining the wrestling team this year, there is an important meeting tomorrow from 2:00 – 3:00 in Mr. Speek’s room H20.  Please attend.

 

FROM THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT

Tomorrow at 2:15 the Music Department invites the entire school community to the “Works in Progress” Concert in the Charlotte Ryan Theater.  Stop in any time for some lovely performances by the Middle School Chorus, High School Chorus, and High School Band.

 

FRANKLIN TECH FIELD TRIP

All 8th grade students living in Franklin County are encouraged to tour Franklin Tech on November 3rd.  Permission slips are available in Student Services and will need to be returned by tomorrow.

 

YEARBOOK SENIOR PICTURES

Just a reminder that senior pictures are due by November 1st

The High School JETS team will meet in Mrs. Schulze's room today after school. We will be discussing the essay challenge of greening a local building.  The Middle School team will meet in Ms. Cote’s room.

 

7th GRADE STUDENTS

The deadline for the MWCC North Central, Mass Talent Search applications and your yellow 7th grade permission slips to the 7th Grade Leadership Conference is this Thursday in order to go on the first Leadership trip.  Please give your completed forms to Ms. P in Room S01 or Mrs. Brunelle.

 

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

The results for the election of the National Junior Honor Society offices are as follows: President – Thomas Martin, Jr., Vice-President – Hannah Dupont; Treasurer – Elias Spencer; Secretary – Gracie Martin.  There will be a brief meeting of these officers tomorrow at 2:15 in Mrs. Marshall’s room, M12.

 

LIP SYNC REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

Tomorrow's lip sync rehearsal schedule is as follows: 5:45 – 6:00 p.m. – King & Queen candidates;

6:00 – 6:15 p.m. - 9th grade; 6:15 – 6:30 p.m. – 10th grade; 6:30- 6:45 p.m. – 11th grade;

6:45 – 7:00 p.m. – 12th grade.  Please note:  This is a full dress rehearsal with CD ready and all

props ready.  We need to see the performance and the dress exactly as it will be Thursday night.  A class advisor should be with the group.  To Key Club Members: If you have an assignment for lip sync you should be here at 5:45 p.m.

KEY CLUB HOMECOMING DANCE

The Key Club Homecoming Dance is this Saturday from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. in the Mahar cafeteria.   Announcement of winners in the parade competition and in the lip sync competition and the presentation of the Homecoming royalty will be at 8:40 p.m.  Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $6.00 at the door; they will be sold during lunch this Thursday and Friday.  You may also purchase tickets from Miss Smith in the morning before school.  Guests must be signed up with Miss Smith in the Key Club room (in the back of the library) by 2 p.m. on Friday.

 

Today’s lunch is fajita rice bowl, summer squash or green beans.
