43rd Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSAL

The Middle School field hockey team will be dismissed at 1:50 today.  The JV boys’ and girls’ soccer will teams will be dismissed at 1:50 today.

 

SENIORS – YEARBOOK ITEMS

If you have not turned in your senior picture, baby photo, candid photo and quote, please do so as soon as possible.  Please see Mr. Guertin or Mrs. Hammond with any questions.

 

STUDENTS CAN VOTE

Do you wish you could vote in the upcoming election?  Now you can! Mahar students will have the opportunity to make their voice heard by voting online now through November 8th.  Please check your student e-mails for an e-mail from Mr. Kirouac with a link to a Google Form.  All voting is anonymous and we hope that you all participate. 

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8:00 a.m.

 

JETS

Both high school and middle school JETS teams will meet tomorrow after school in Mrs. Schulze’s room, H13.  This week’s topic is Closed Ecosystems.  If you want to participate in JETS but can’t make the meeting, high school students should see Mrs. Schulze and Middle School students should see Ms. Cote for pertinent information.  It is not too late to join this engineering club.

 

FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

There will be a Middle School meeting on Wednesday at 2:10 in the cafeteria.  The high school meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in room H10.

 

HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS

All Halloween decorations need to be taken down tomorrow afterschool from 2:00 – 3:00.

 

SENIORS

Turners Falls High School will be hosting FAFSA Day on Sunday, November 6th at 1:00 p.m.  This is a free event that will provide the information, resources, and one-on-one assistance to complete this federally required financial aid form.  For more information stop into Student Services.

ASVAB

Permission slips for the ASVAB military service exam are now available in Student Services.  This free exam will be held on November 17th at Mahar, and is available to juniors and seniors.  Permission slips are due by Thursday.

 

COLLEGE VISITS FOR SENIORS

Representatives from the following colleges will be in Student Services tomorrow: Elms College at 12:30 and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 1:00.  If you are interested in seeing a representative from either of these colleges, please sign up in either Student Services or your Health Class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

 

KEY CLUB SPAGHETTI SUPPER   

There will be a Key Club Spaghetti Supper Friday November 4th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Mahar cafeteria.  The menu includes spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad bar, garlic bread, beverage, and homemade dessert on an "all-you- can -eat" basis.  Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12.  Tickets are available from Key Club members.  They will also be sold during lunch on Thursday and Friday and at the door.

 

Today’s lunch is popcorn chicken or ham and cheese sub.
