28th Day of School

 

SPORTS DISMISSAL

The Middle School field hockey team will be dismissed at 1:50 today.

 

LATE BUS SIGN UPS

Students must sign up for the late bus during their lunch time.  The book will be located in the cafeteria.  Please make sure to write your first name and last name when you sign up and also list the teacher you will be staying with.

 

FLU CLINIC

On Monday, October 16th, there will be a free flu clinic for students in the nurse’s office.  Permission forms are available in the nurse’s office and on the Mahar website.  Please return permission forms to the nurse’s office by Friday, October 13th

 

WEAR YOUR HAT TO SCHOOL DAY

Please join the National Honor Society and “Tip Your Hat for the Mahar Cancer Walk!” Pay $2.00 and you may wear your favorite hat, dress code appropriate this Friday.  Please see Mrs. Hammond in the middle school office for more details.  This is open to all students in grades 

7 – 12 and faculty!

 

KEY CLUB

There will be a Key Club meeting today beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please have departure rides here for 8 p.m.

 

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

There will be a mandatory meeting of all members of the National Junior Honor Society today at 2:15 in Mrs. Marshall’s room, M12.  This meeting is for inducted members only.

 

COLLEGE VISITS FOR SENIORS

A representative from UMass/Lowell will be here on Friday at 10:00.  Also, Lyndon State College will be here on Wednesday, October 11th at 1:00.   If you are interested in seeing these representatives, please sign up in either Student Services or your health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

There will be a middle school Fish 'N Game Club meeting today in the cafeteria. See Mr. Duguay if you have any questions.

 

HIGH SCHOOL FISH ‘N GAME CLUB

There will be a high school Fish 'N Game Club meeting tomorrow in room H10. See Ms. Gonciarz if you have any questions.

 

FRANKLIN TECH FIELD TRIP

All 8th grade students living in Franklin County are encouraged to tour Franklin Tech on November 3rd.  Permission slips are available in Student Services and will need to be returned by October 18th

 

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month here is your fact for today: Salma Hayek, is a Mexican and American film actress, producer, and former model. She began her career in Mexico starring in the telenovela Teresa and starred in the film El Callejón de los Milagros (Miracle Alley) for which she was nominated for an Ariel Award. In 1991 Hayek moved to Hollywood and came to prominence with roles in movies such as Desperado (1995),[5] From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), Dogma (1999), and Wild Wild West (1999).

 

MAHAR CANCER WALK

Come join us Saturday, October 7th from 9:00 – 2:00 to walk and raise money to help support the members of our community fighting cancer. Survivor lap to be held at 11:00. Sponsor Donor forms can be found in both Middle and High School offices.  Fact: Use caution, tanning beds and sunlamps are just as harmful to your skin as direct sunlight.

 

Today’s lunch is stuffed crust cheese pizza and side salad.
