A MESSAGE FROM MR. HEMLIN

In an effort to help schools impacted by Hurricane Harvey, our school has adopted two schools in the Houston area in order to assist them with their recovery efforts.  The two schools are C.E. King High School and Dean Middle School.  Both schools are in need of basic materials such as school supplies, toiletries, and clothing.  Gift cards will also be helpful.  Collection bins have been set up in the middle school and high school offices.  Please donate what you can in order to assist the students and teachers of our adopted schools.  If you are donating a gift card, please give the card directly to one of the administrative assistants in either the middle school or high school office.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, here is your fact for today:  Sonia Maria Sotomayor is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents, in 2009 she made history as the first Hispanic and only the third woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court. When asked during her confirmation hearings to define her judicial philosophy, she simply replied, “Fidelity to the law.”
