44th Day of School

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS

Students are reminded that teachers are not available for extra help or makeup on Monday afternoons.  Students who would like to stay after school on Mondays to complete work or students who are waiting for sports practices to start, are to report to the cafeteria by 2:15.  Students should not wander the building at that time.

 

LOST AND FOUND

Please check the lost and found located in the gym, middle school office and high school office for any items you are missing.  Items that are not claimed will be donated to charity this Wednesday.

 

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship information is now available in Student Services for: Big Y Scholarship, the deadline is February 1st.  Henry David Thoreau Foundation Scholarship for seniors interested in environmental studies, the deadline is February 1st.  Several American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships, the deadline is March 1st.   Also, Information is now available for the Greater Worcester Community Foundation Scholarships for graduating students living in Worcester County.

 

COLLEGE VISITS FOR SENIORS

Representatives from UMass/Dartmouth will be here tomorrow at 8:00 and Westfield State University will be here at 10:00.  The University of Rhode Island will be here on Thursday at 9:30.  If you are interested in seeing these representatives, please sign up in either Student Services or your health class.  Please remember to get your college visit pass after signing up.

 

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS

Permission slips are now available in Student Services for the November 17th Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) for students who are interested in pursuing military careers. Slips are due back by Friday to take part in this opportunity. 

 

YEARBOOK SENIOR PICTURES

Just a reminder that senior pictures are due by Wednesday. 

  

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

Please return your MWCC Talent Search application by Tuesday to Ms. Pellecchia (Ms. P.) in Room S01 in order to be eligible to win the t-shirt and attend the 'Christmas Carol' theatre trip.

 

NEW SALEM TOWN HALLOWEEN PARTY

The New Salem Town Halloween party is tomorrow and we need help decorating! We also need students to bring any games they are willing to run for small kiddos.

 

JETS

The high school JETS team will meet in Mrs. Schulze’s room tomorrow at 2:10 to discuss making Mahar greener.

 

SOS

The next SOS meeting is Wednesday from 2:10-5 p.m. in room H03. Anyone is welcome! Please see Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions.

 

ALL STUDENTS

High School Student Council will be hosting its annual Halloween Costume competition tomorrow.  Prizes will include cash and bags of candy for funnest, most creative, partner, and Group costumes.  Judging will take place during High School Lunches. Join in the fun!

 

FISH ‘N GAME

Cookie dough and flag orders from the fall fundraiser will be delivered this Wednesday.  You must pick up your orders between 2:15 and 3:00 in the cafeteria after school on Wednesday.  If you cannot pick up your orders, you must find someone to pick them up for you.  See Ms. Gonciarz or Mr. Duguay if you have any questions.

 

SPAGHETTI SUPPER

There will be a Key Club Spaghetti Supper this Friday from 5:30 to 7 P.M. in the Mahar cafeteria.  The menu includes spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad bar, garlic bread, beverage, and homemade dessert on an "all-you- can -eat" basis.  Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12.  Tickets are available from Key Club members.  They will also be sold during lunch on Thursday and Friday, and at the door.

 

Today’s lunch is Senator’s super subs or bagel lunch with cheese and fruit.
