Scholarships are monies dispersed to students for college that do not need
to be paid back. Some scholarships are need based, some are merit
based, some are based on individual characteristics and some are based on
participation in activities. There are three levels to scholarships:
National and State, College, Local/Community.
National and State scholarships are available on line at http://www.collegenet.com/mach25/,
http://www.srnexpress.com/index.cfm,

http://www.WeeklyScholarshipAlert.org and http://www.fastweb.com.
These are great, free sites. Check them out.
Most colleges will consider you for their college
scholarships
when you apply. You will be notified of the scholarships you've been
awarded when you receive your financial aid package. There are some
colleges that notify us about new scholarships they offer. We will
post that information in the daily announcements--keep your eye out for
these! Additionally, the five University of Massachusetts schools
have academic scholarships that require specific applications; see your
guidance counselor for details.
Additionally, we post local
scholarships (please click on the link below) for our
seniors and alumni in January, February and March.
These scholarships are also available in the Student Services office. Most local scholarships use the
general
application. For scholarships that use specific applications
please contact the Student Services Office.
