ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
This campaign was started in 2009 when it became apparent that the condition and quantity of the current Mahar uniforms was insufficient to meet the needs of the Ralph C Mahar Band.
When it was decided that new uniforms would need to be purchased, Fruhauf Band Uniform Company was consulted and a new uniform was designed.
In keeping with tradition, the new uniform will sport navy blue slacks and red jackets. The jackets will have blue epaulets and cuffs while the sleeves are labeled on one side with Ralph C Mahar Reg. School and the other will be labeled with Orange, Mass.
We are currently in the process of raising money for the purchase of 60 uniforms, in hopes of being able to raise the required funds in time to bring our new look to the field in fall 2012!!!
With a price tag of almost $20,000, this is an ambitious goal!!! In short, we need your help to make this a reality!
We have a wonderful group of parent volunteers here called the Friends of Mahar Music. They work tirelessly to raise funds and awareness to support the rich tradition that is the Mahar music program. They have already begun fundraising in an effort to raise the money for these uniforms, but we need your help also!
Mahar Band students are selfless with their time. They show up to practice, to play at football games, to march in parades and they do it with excellence and enthusiasm. When I came to Mahar, I was told of the marching bands of old that were one hundred members strong and thundered through the streets. The band is back. These kids deserve your support. Please help in any way you can.
